Pinangba’s Ny-Ku Byun Elders Village, in the Aboriginal community of Cherbourg, provides high-quality aged care to a diverse community, with an extended family tree of dedicated employees, respected Elders and welcomed visitors from all walks of life. The history of Cherbourg weaves a tapestry of clans and tribes from all over Queensland and further afield. The local council motto, Many Tribes, One Community, is seen every day at Ny-Ku Byun, which means ‘Our Home’. A hidden gem in the countryside, it is a place where we work in harmony, as a family, providing care to our Elders. We offer comfortable rooms and several shared areas for Elders, including dining rooms and gardens with a fire pit. We host weekly cook-ups and yarn-ups and have a site-owned bus. Our services are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group of services, where family and belonging are at the heart of everything we do. We are part of the UnitingCare family and operated by Blue Care.
