Welcome to Buckland Aged Care Services, the only three-tiered aged care service in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. This fully accredited organisation offers prospective residents a wonderful aged care service in the beautiful setting of Springwood, located in Springwood. The village sits in a setting that many experts consider to have one of the best climates in the world, free of city pollution. Buckland's 51.5 hectares of natural bushland surround a 144-bed residential aged care facility, along with 165 self care units and cottages across two sites, all with wheelchair access. The community centre includes a library, lounge, indoor bowls area, table tennis, craft room, commercial kitchen and an auditorium that seats almost 300 people. A Residents Forum caters for welfare and social activities and gives residents a voice in the running of the village. Residents enjoy regular outings and local transport on the village's own buses, with regular private bus services also available. Springwood's shopping centre is just over 1km away, and the Springwood Golf and Sports Bowling Clubs are only minutes away. Fast, air-conditioned electric trains take about 75 minutes to reach Sydney, while Penrith is 20 minutes away by car.
