HammondCare Cardiff Residential Aged Care provides specialised dementia care in Newcastle, combining expert clinical and dementia care with smart home design. The small purpose-built cottages incorporate family home kitchens, familiar living spaces and easy access to gardens, helping residents feel at home, feel a sense of belonging and make their own choices. The residential aged care team is trained in leading dementia care practices and takes time to build a genuine relationship with each resident and their family, tailoring care to their individual background, values, preferences and health needs. Staff learn about each resident's history, passions, values and hobbies so they can continue to lead a fulfilling life, with a focus on compassionate care and clinical excellence. HammondCare draws on 30 years' experience caring for people with dementia. The Pastoral Care team welcomes and respects people of all faiths and of no faith, and offers regular support to residents and families, including a support group for carers. A team of trained volunteers adds companionship, art and music, gardening, pet therapy and spiritual care. HammondCare Cardiff also works with partners such as pharmacy and allied health providers to care for residents holistically.
