Established in 1938, Ashwood Residential Care Service has been serving the people of Western Sydney for over 80 years. Located in Pendle Hill, it provides quality care for residents requiring permanent, dementia specific and respite care. Set on four acres, Ashwood is close to public transport and only minutes from the centre of Parramatta and Westmead Hospital. The service offers a full range of care that enables ageing in place, so residents can remain here as their lives and needs change. The trained, caring staff aim to keep the homely environments friendly, safe and fun, with a diverse activities program offering something for everyone. Residents can enjoy gatherings and special times with loved ones in the large BBQ area and function room. Services include chaplaincy support, church services, a hairdresser, regular visits from healthcare professionals, a library, and planned social and recreational activities such as regular BBQs, bingo, and bus trips into the city and to nurseries, parks and shopping centres. Ashwood respects the different beliefs, backgrounds, customs and interests of all residents, so everybody is welcome. The service has been accredited by the Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and is managed in accordance with State and Federal legislation and regulations.
