Carinity Shalom has been part of the Rockhampton community for 20 years, providing high quality care for older people since 1985. Set in a prime position in North Rockhampton overlooking a picturesque lagoon filled with birds, turtles and river wildlife, Shalom offers a peaceful environment for all who live here. A registered nurse is on site 24/7, and the facility offers permanent residential care, palliative care, dementia-specific care and respite care. With a community of around 65 residents, there is always something to see or do, from crafts, bowls, board games and concerts in the community pavilion and multipurpose centre, to group activities, entertainment, a library, a hairdresser, a chaplain and church services. Popular walking trails run alongside the lagoon, and the beautiful gardens, barbecue and gazebo by the water are ideal for family gatherings and celebrations. Visiting GPs and access to physiotherapy, podiatry and allied health services are available. Shalom is also home to an adjacent retirement community, so couples can stay connected if one partner needs a higher level of care. Shalom is located in Kawana.
