Allawah Lodge is a 33 bed residential aged care facility located in Coolamon, set on the corner of Stinson and Mirrool Streets in the heart of the Coolamon health care precinct. Within walking distance of the main street, the facility is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. Originally opened as a low care hostel in 1991, Allawah Lodge has grown over the years with the Chauncy Wing and an 11 bed dementia specific wing, and underwent a major refurbishment in 2020-2021 including upgraded kitchen and laundry, a relocated dining room and a multi-purpose room for residents. Resident rooms are air-conditioned and each has a private ensuite, built-in wardrobe and an adjustable bed. The aim of the staff, committee and volunteers is to ensure every resident lives in a safe, home-like environment where their dignity and privacy are respected and their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs are supported.
